Rake Structure

Here’s a quick overview of how the GGPoker rake system works:

Rake: Standard 5% across most cash games
Caps: Between 0.5 and 2 big blinds, depending on stake and table size
Rush & Cash: Same 5% rate, but with lower caps (typically 0.5–1 BB).
No rake if the table isn’t full.
Preflop Rake: Applied to pots over 2.5 BB; all 3-bet pots are raked

What this yields in practice for your desired game, stake and number of player can be seen in the following graphic and table:

Afghanistan, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Colombia, Cuba, Curaçao, Czech Republic, Denmark, Iran, Isle of Man, Moldova, Mongolia, Philippines, Portugal, South Korea, Sweden, Ukraine, and Zimbabwe are also restricted.

Rakeback & Loyalty System

GGPoker offers up to 60% rakeback through its loyalty program and regular promotions.

Cashback is earned from two main sources:

Fish Buffet: the standard loyalty program featuring semi-random payouts.
Platinum Cashback: a fixed-rate weekly cashback option designed for high-volume players.

On top of these, GGPoker regularly hosts leaderboards, challenges, and cash-drop promotions that further increase your rewards—typically paid out in Cash Game Dollars (C$) or ticket bonuses.

Next, we’ll explain how each rakeback system works and help you determine which one offers the best value for your playing style.

Fish Buffet Loyalty Program

The Fish Buffet is GGPoker’s standard rewards program, offering cashback based on rake generated. It operates through a tiered system—each level grants access to a chest with a random reward.

Players accumulate Fish Points (FP) by participating in real money games.
The base earning rate is:

100 FP for every $1 paid in rake or tournament fees

However, the exact rate may vary depending on GGPoker’s internal Player Value Index (PVI), which adjusts rewards based on your playing behavior.

Player Value Index (PVI) Explained

The Player Value Index is a proprietary metric used by GGPoker to determine the number of Fish Points a player earns, influencing overall rakeback.

This system analyzes playing style and contribution to the poker ecosystem:
Recreational players — those who play looser or call more frequently—tend to receive a higher PVI, earning more points per dollar spent.
More conservative or GTO-oriented regulars usually have a lower PVI, resulting in reduced rewards for the same rake.

As GGPoker doesn’t disclose PVI details, players gradually learn their true cashback potential through experience.

Platinum Rakeback

Platinum Rakeback is GGPoker’s fixed-percentage alternative to the spin-based Fish Buffet system. Instead of unlocking random rewards, players with Platinum status receive guaranteed weekly rakeback based on the number of Fish Points (FP) they earn.

This option becomes available after reaching specific tiers in the Fish Buffet program. Once eligible, you can switch to Platinum through your GGPoker account settings. From there, you'll receive consistent cashback payouts every Monday — no spins, no time limits.

Platinum Rakeback is ideal for high-volume grinders who prefer predictable rewards and are confident in maintaining the required FP thresholds.

Platinum Octopus285 FP35%
Platinum Whale200 FP50%
Platinum Shark182 FP55%
GGPlatinum167 FP60%

Weekly rewards are calculated based on your total FP earned the previous week.

Leveling Up & Rewards

After accumulating enough points to complete a level, players unlock a chest and spin a wheel to reveal their reward.
Higher levels offer better chances at bigger rewards.

Each level must be completed within a set time. Failing to meet the point requirement results in demotion and a smaller cashback amount — typically around 10% of the points earned.
